CBD FAQ
Answers to the most frequently asked questions about cbd products and how we evaluate them.
CBD (cannabidiol) is a naturally occurring compound found in the Cannabis sativa plant. Unlike THC, CBD is non-intoxicating and won't get you 'high.' It interacts with the body's endocannabinoid system and is commonly used for wellness purposes including stress relief, sleep support, and general well-being.
Hemp-derived CBD containing less than 0.3% THC is federally legal in the United States under the 2018 Farm Bill. However, individual state laws vary, and some states have additional restrictions on CBD products. Always check your local regulations.
Full-spectrum CBD contains all cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids from the hemp plant, including trace THC (under 0.3%). Broad-spectrum includes multiple cannabinoids with THC removed. CBD isolate is pure CBD only. Full-spectrum is believed to provide the most benefits due to the 'entourage effect.'
Full-spectrum CBD products contain trace amounts of THC that could potentially accumulate with regular use and trigger a positive drug test. If drug testing is a concern, opt for broad-spectrum or CBD isolate products, which should contain zero THC.
We use a 100-point scoring system that evaluates product quality (lab testing, potency, hemp source), brand transparency (COAs, about page, contact info), customer satisfaction (reviews, ratings), value (price per mg of CBD), and trust signals (website quality, certifications).
Third-party lab testing means an independent laboratory (not affiliated with the CBD brand) tests the product for cannabinoid content, potency accuracy, and contaminants like pesticides, heavy metals, and residual solvents. Results are published as Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
Start with a low dose (10-25mg per day) and gradually increase. Factors affecting dosage include body weight, individual body chemistry, the concentration of CBD, and the desired effects. Consult with a healthcare provider for personalized dosage guidance.
CBD is generally well-tolerated. Possible side effects include dry mouth, drowsiness, reduced appetite, and diarrhea. CBD can also interact with certain medications. Consult your doctor before starting CBD, especially if you take prescription medications.
